This theater dates back to 1927 and was built by Universal Studios. Both moving pictures and vaudeville-type shows and plays were housed here and it is now a cinema pub that is believed to be haunted. The ghost is said to be a man who hanged himself backstage and the women's bathroom is known to have a spirit as well.

Did not know it was haunted, but now I do...

Partner had a specialist doc appt. in Portland, spent the day in town, went to the Bagdad to go have a drink and some food and check out the amazing, historic building! Had not heard anything about it being haunted...

Backstage bar was such an amazing space, pub had great food and drinks, bartender rocked, music better than most McMenamin's. She let us wander around the theater to check it out after the last showing ended.

Love the design! Went up to the balcony to see the views from above, take more pics. Partner mentioned stopping at the bathroom downstairs before we left to drive hours home. Stepped through the door into the hallway to the right to see what was there, looked right, spotted the women's bathroom sign, and for a split second was like oh, yeah, can totally use this one. Took a few steps toward it and got the coldest chills and very eerie vibes and just was like Nope! Turned to my partner and said yeah, that bathroom is totally haunted, going downstairs now, mostly jokingly. Did not go in!

Saw the bartender again, was like hey, so this place is haunted, right? She's like yes, yes it is. She asked me where I felt it, upstairs or downstairs, and when I told her, she said interesting...then I said it was the women's bathroom and she was like bingo! Totally yes, it is. Everyone there knows it.

Also, she said something... not so nice hangs out downstairs in the theater, and something more mischievous does so in the Backstage bar. I didn't notice anything in those spaces, and that's fine by me! One super creepy feeling was enough for one night.

Also, on the late night drive home, not one, but TWO big white owls flew in front of our vehicle at different times, almost as if trying to stop us. At that point, I apologized for making light of the bathroom being haunted and asked for nothing to follow me home.

Hand seen in women’s bathroom

I was going to the women’s bathroom, no one was down there and I heard creaking and when I was going to the bathroom a saw a white hand swoosh underneath the bathroom stall.
