This house dates back to 1925, and has seen many celebrities throughout its history as a hotel and inn. Stories of hauntings here include a man's apparition seen smoking a cigar, an elderly lady wearing a period dress, doors opening and closing on their own, disembodied footsteps, and a large dog's apparition. People say if you're interested in staying in a haunted room, the Chanticleer Room reportedly has a ghostly housemaid that is known to open the drapes in the morning and close them at night. In the Roosevelt Room (where the president himself has stayed), lights turn on and off by themselves and closet doors have been known to fly open and slam shut while no one is around. Children giggling can also be heard in the Inn Keeper's room, but no one is ever inside when people have gone to investigate the noise.
