Bridge Creek Flora Inn
Fossil, OR 97830
Built in 1905, this historic homestead once operated as an atmospheric bed and breakfast inn. The building has played host to the saddening tale of a farmer and his rich lover, who were bound together in life and death. After being told she was not allowed to marry the farmer, she fell to her death from the third floor, where many claim to have seen her staring down into the street. The farmer took the blame for her death, and was hanged on the tree in front of the building. Some locals report seeing someone hanging from the tree late at night, but when people go to check it out, they can't find anyone. Others have reported hearing hoof beats of his abandoned horse along the main street of town. The location is no longer the Bridge Creek Flora Inn.

Stayed here with my father around 2004... We were the only ones in the quarters. Very old Victorian/turn of century design, big eye paintings, etc. As we were falling asleep, we both heard kids laughing in the hallway. Our rooms were across the hallway from each other. In the morning, we asked the previous owner if she had children/kids staying with her, and she said "Nope, just you guys." CREEPY. Love it! They have reopened as Hyatt House Bed and Breakfast, and updated inside to a little more contemporary.
