He had bought the corner lot at Lane and Jackson and had built a beautiful house for him and his bride. Together they were raising three wonderful children, 2 strong boys and a lovely daughter.
Then one dark and stormy night ....
Those poor children and their Mother did not stand a chance.... so much blood. It was enough to bring strong men to their knees when they entered the House.
?
Nobody figured out the why, Cyril was tried and found mentally insane and sentenced to spend the rest of his life in Fairview Manor located across the South Umpqua River , where today stands the Douglas County Fairgrounds..............but did he??
Several years later The National B.P.O.E bought the land and the Roseburg Elks Lodge rose from the ground over the very same spot where Cyrils house once stood.
For several decades nothing happen, but then around 2010 The Elks Lodge decided to hold a fundraiser.... A Haunted House as it were. MISTAKE!!!!
Something has been reborn in the ballroom , the faint child laughter....the screams......the moans........the Strange happenings, has Cyril returned?
Every year it culminates during late October when the Haunted House takes place.
If you and yours are brave enough , come see what takes place at
Cyrils House of Horrors.

A creeptacular sensation here in downtown Roseburg!
Though the Roseburg Fright Club has been putting on a haunted house for decades, they manage to outdo themselves every year. Their hazy, haunted maze has enough twists, turns, and terrors to frighten even the most steadfast of hearts! Not only is the cavalcade of undead all-volunteer, but all proceeds go to local charities. On top of that, the haunt gives kids a safe (albeit spooky) place to trick-or-treat on Halloween night. If you love the macabre or are just looking for a great fright, check out the House of the Undead starting in mid-October!
